What kind of cats are likely to be deaf?

Answer:
White cats with blue eyes, whether short- or long-haired. Odd-eyed white cats (with one blue eye and one green or gold eye) are often deaf on the blue-eyed side. But the gene that causes deafness in blue-eyed white cats doesn’t run in Siamese cats. So even Siamese who are bred with white coats will not normally have this tendency.
